Well, it is now Mission's Conference week down here at Moody Bible Institute. Mission's Conference means a lot of things to us third year students. It means first, a week without having to go to class-- and no one can complain about that. It means second, a week where more missionaries than you could possibly imagine telling you why God's plan for your life most likely includes living in a mud hut somewhere and eating bugs. It means third, a lot of homework.
Yes, this week I will be reading a little book called "The Torah's Vision of Worship" and attempting to write a book review on it. FYI, a book review is apparently vhastly different from a book report, and I guess I will be finding out how before I write it. Anyways, it really should be a fun week down here. Of course, they will bring in the resident crazy speakers like George Verwer (if anyone has ever heard of him then you know what I mean), but they always have some really cool stuff we get to hear as well.

Enjoy Missions Week, Leigh. I know you always do. As far as eating bugs and living in a mud hut...isn't that how you spent your summer this year? Maybe you could be a speaker.
Hey, I was reading your comments on my blog and I'm not sure what to tell you about costumes. I alway's love to dress up as a princess. Mostly I just love to wear dresses. If you like dresses, maybe you could just find an old prom dress or and then wear a shawl with it and a crown or something like that. If you'd rather not wear a dress, I was thinking you might make a cute "Mary Ann" from Gilligans island. You could just put your hair in pigtails and then find a cute summer outfit. But other than that I don't have many ideas. Usually it takes me a while to come up with anything. =)
Sorry about the mistakes. I forgot to proof-read it. you know, the " ' " in "alway's" :) and the extra "or". Oh well.
So, how did Mission's Week go? Are you about to take off to Africa and spend your time eating bugs? I have a friend that was a missionary's kid. He actually ate bugs while living in Africa and once while living in Waco, TX (to prove he would eat them to doubting friends).
I eat bugs here in PHX. And I'm not a missionary...just hungry. I do remember a quote from the Institute in Basic Youth Conflicts a few years ago (OK, over 30 yrs ago): Everyone everywhere is either a missionary or a mission field. Gotta go..just saw a yummy cricket.
It's time for you to blog again, but I do want you to know that Chicago is not "down" here. It's "up" here! Don't eat bugs, however I hear that locusts taste great with wild honey.
